Are you relocating to Charlotte, NC? Nothing could be finer than South Charlotte homes!

Well, unless you had country living or waterfront homes in mind!

South Charlotte's reputation is one of luxury and high dollar homes. This is not quite true. All homes are not created equal, but the land beneath them, certainly drives the price up due to its location.

With the popularity of South Charlotte, comes the higher sticker price. If you want your home to be in South Charlotte, but one that is close to town, you may find it to be cosmetically challenged and in need of a good facelift.

This can be said for well known locales such as Myers Park and Southpark. These are both prime real estate locations. Developers and builders keep a keen eye on the area for potential teardowns, only to be replaced with someone's new custom home or niche neighborhood.

If you step out a bit further, into the Ballantyne area of South Charlotte, you'll find many new homes and subdivisions. These new Charlotte homes are less than 15 years old-some still being built. Most of these developments have community pools and clubhouses.


For those seeking south Charlotte homes in the Ballantyne area; you can expect to find all you need at your fingertips. Extras like the Charlotte Douglas International Airport or Center City Charlotte, can both be reached in less than a 30 minute commute time!

South Charlotte homes in the Ballantyne area tend to be a bit newer, as do the area businesses and restaurants. The area really took on deeper roots back in the early 1990's.

The upscale feel is present on all three of these South Charlotte developments, but there are distinct differences.

We'll start with Myers Park. The Myers Park neighborhood is the closest and oldest of the three. Offering easy access to Charlotte's Freedom Park (like New York's Central Park, but smaller, this area is home to doctors, developers, attorneys and politicians, all in need of quick access to Charlotte Center City, and the means to pay for it!

Many historical homes grace Queens Road as it winds itself in and out, covered by a canopy of Oak trees, drug in many years ago by donkey. These Oak trees are noted historically and are a very distinct demarcation for the area known as Myers Park.


Southpark has good sized yards with beautiful landscaping, some with private pools and a few communities with neighborhood pools and an array of home designs and ages. Many of these homes are very unique, so if you are looking for a one of a kind home, this may be the right place for you to look at property.

Southpark is also a great place for folks wanting to put a little sweat equity into a property, you might be able to find something reasonably priced due to being cosmetically challenged, and have fun some fun updating your new home!

Ballanytne has manageable yards with young trees and shrubs in place-although the main entries and roads within them are nicely landscaped. Many (if not most) of these neighborhoods have amenity centers.

Many of Ballantyne developments were created as a whole by a singular builder, rather than by many builders, creating similarity amongst the properties you have to choose from.

Myers Park, Southpark and Ballantyne all offer great schools, beautiful homes, and easy access to just about everything within just a three mile radius

So, if you are moving to the Carolina's and you keep hearing about one or more of these South Charlotte locales, the number one reason for that, is they can provide you with everything within easy reach plus, South Charlotte homes are good equity providers!
